According to authorities, a guy has been detained in relation to a fatal car bombing that occurred in Delhi last week, killing eight people and injuring twenty more. According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the vehicle used in the assault, which the government has labelled a “terrorist incident,” was registered in the name of the detained suspect.
He has been charged with plotting with the purported suicide bomber. According to investigators, the suspect lived in Kashmir, which India oversees. One of Delhi’s most famous landmarks, the Red Fort, was adjacent to the metro station where the explosion occurred.
According to the agency, it has taken another car that is purportedly the suicide bomber’s for inspection. It has questioned 73 witnesses thus far, including those who were hurt in the explosion. This was the first explosion of its kind in the heavily guarded city since 2011, and it happened outside the old fort. The attack happened on Monday at 6:52 p.m. local time (13:22 GMT), when a slow-moving car came to a stop at a crowded traffic signal before blowing up.
