There will be no meeting between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and High Representative Kaja Kallas during her official visit to Washington. Due to scheduling conflicts, the High Representative “will not meet Secretary of State Marco Rubio on this occasion.” Her spokesman told Euronews that they had last met at the Munich Security Conference.
The meeting was scheduled on Wednesday, and news outlets anticipated seeing pictures from the two-way discussions. According to the spokeswoman, Kallas will continue to meet with members of the US Senate and Congress to talk about the transatlantic partnership and Russia’s war against Ukraine.
In anticipation of meeting with her counterpart, Kallas had flown to the U.S. capital to discuss Donald Trump’s effort to begin talks with Russia and Ukraine, which has shook European allies due to its unorganised and biassed approach.
